Security domain deep dive
Security and Compliance is the highest-weighted domain (30%). We focus heavily on IAM, the Shared Responsibility Model, and how AWS handles security at the infrastructure level.
Core service identification
The exam asks you to identify which AWS service solves a given problem. We drill service identification through scenario questions until it becomes instinctive.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any prior AWS or cloud experience?
No. Cloud Practitioner is designed for people with no prior cloud experience. We start with the fundamentals of what cloud computing is and build from there. Many of our students come from on-premise IT backgrounds.
Is Cloud Practitioner worth it for a security career?
Yes — especially now. Cloud security is one of the fastest-growing areas in the field. Cloud Practitioner gives you the vocabulary and foundational knowledge you need to pursue cloud-focused security roles or add cloud to your existing skill set.
How long does it take to prepare?
Most students are ready in 4–6 weeks with consistent study of 1–2 hours per day. It is the most approachable cloud certification available and a good momentum-builder.
What is the hardest part of the exam?
Service identification — knowing which AWS service to use in a given scenario. There are many services with overlapping names and functions. We dedicate specific sessions to mapping services to use cases so you can answer these quickly on exam day.
What is the exam format?
Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) is a 65-question multiple choice exam with a 90-minute time limit. It includes multiple select questions where you must choose 2 correct answers. We practice both question types extensively.
